The 24th of October in 1990 marked the launch of Matsuri Japanese Takeaway in Hay Street, Perth. A budding Japanese restaurant that would soon become an icon of Perth dining. Several other Matsuri outlets were opened nearby, until the recent relocation to the current premises in the QV1 building.
Yutaka Takeuchi founded Matsuri. His intention was to provide quality Japanese food to Perth's blossoming business centre and to defy the usual outrageous pricing. He now successfully brings amazing Japanese cuisine to the people.
The word Matsuri means Festival and Matsuri Japanese Takeaway certainly celebrates food. Delicious Japanese meals - whether you choose a set menu, or by the plate - are created by Matsuri's dedicated and talented team of chefs. They will arrive at your table pleasing to the eye, and ready to pleasure the tastebuds. With an emphasis on light and healthy foods, you can be sure that you're not only enjoying yourself, you're also looking after your body.
Matsuri was designed by Architect Michael Roxby, and combines contemporary style with an oriental feel. Stainless steel and glass complimented with bamboo, washed river stones, and water features which sooth the ear and mind while you indulge.
In Summary, Matsuri blends fine Japanese cuisine with amazing surroundings for the ideal dining experience, any time of the year.
